Today, Verizon released the 15th edition of its annual Data Breach Investigation Report. In what was an unprecedented year for cybersecurity, 2021 saw an alarming rise in ransomware attacks and continuing disruption by organized crime and other external actors. In addition, the report found that people remain the weakest link in an organization, and that human error accounted for the majority of breaches.
